Gator Cover offers various solutions to truck bed covers. Such solutions help truck owners improve the security of the cargo carried at the back. One such product is the Gator Recoil Retractable Tonneau Cover, which retracts fully or partially to allow one to fit loads of different sizes in the truck bed. Most people confirm that they are not comfortable driving with uncovered cargo in their pickup truck bed. Apart from the fact that uncovered cargo entices thieves, items ferried at the back of a pickup truck could also fall or be blown out by the wind during high speed. This is part of the reason every truck owner needs a Gator Recoil Cover. For improved security of items carried in a pickup truck bed, you need a Gator Recoil Cover.

Design
Most people usually appreciate beautiful accessories for their car, so Gator Covers have considered that. Gator Recoil Retractable Tonneau Cover is designed to make your pickup truck bed more attractive and appealing. The design used and the choice of material complement your vehicle’s exterior aesthetics to give it a premium look. This ensures that your pickup truck bed is slightly a step ahead of those with no covers.
You might be want to know how different Gator retractable cover is from other covers. Well, Gator Recoil Cover is hard retractable. Unlike the Hard Tri-fold and Hard Quad-Fold, the Gator Recoil Cover retracts to the very end of the truck bed towards the cabin. Why is this important? This makes it easy to transport goods that cannot fit a covered truck bed. Of course, there are times when the goods to be transported could be taller than the bed height or perhaps bulky. Therefore, the cover’s ability to retract fully comes in handy.
Impressions and Packaging
How about when it rains? That is taken care of. The Gator cover is water-proof. However, you need to ensure that the rubber end is installed above the metal frame of the truck bed next to the cabin. Doing so ensures that the rubber directs water away from the truck bed. The engineered design is also practical, as there are folds of aluminum slats covered in between a scratch-resistant cover. This eliminates the possibility of water pooling on top and caving in due to weight.
Equally important is the fact that the aluminum slats fold up pretty nicely all the way to the rear cover canister to give more room when needed. The aluminum slats also help the Gator Recoil maintain its shape and aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, the retractable cover can be partially opened and clicked to a stop position. You can customize the partial- locking distances during the installation process.
The packaging is impressive and practical. Apart from the rails, the Gator Recoil is usually almost ready to roll out on the truck bed the moment you receive it. However, its rails are usually not yet installed. The package comes with everything you need to install, including nuts, bolts, and a simple yet practical metal screw.
Performance and Technical Issues
Apart from the installation, you may also want to find out how your product would perform. That is fine. Gator Recoil Retractable Tonneau Cover does its job very well. Apart from the edges and the corners where you might find some moisture, the truck bed is pretty much well-covered.
The occasional moisture that you may encounter during heavy rains is because of moving air that pushes tiny water droplets through narrow spaces between the rails and the cover. However, proper installation can also help you get a completely dry truck bed.
In regards to technical issues, watch out that the sliding rails are not under any heavyweight. Too much weight on top of them may eventually cause a section of the rails to warp and make the smooth sliding of the cover difficult. However, the materials used can take quite some weight but it is still important that you take the necessary precautions to make your product last longer. The product is designed to last long, but improper use, like in any other product, may compromise its expected lifetime. Just avoid carrying things on top of it and your friendship will last long.

Is Gator Recoil Recommended for Use?
Yes, this is a great product. Although there are many truck bed covers, Gator Recoil offers ease of installation, practicality, and durability. Given that other pickup truck bed covers can also be installed at home, which one then stands out? The answer is Gator Recoil. Why so? You do not need a drill to install Gator Recoil Retractable Tonneau Cover.
Most importantly, you can still retract it all the way back away from the tailgate and use an open truck bed. Unlike many other covers, the materials used are also durable and add to the vehicle’s aesthetics and aerodynamics. It is believed that improved aerodynamics contributes to fuel efficiency. Therefore, the objective conclusion is that Gator Recoil is recommended for use.
Design Technology
At a time when technology is moving so many products, Gator Recoil has employed a practical design and technology. Rather than use large plates that may not be foldable, Gator Recoil Cover uses several pieces of metal aluminum slats. The slats are sewn between two layers of water-proof and scratch-resistant material.
This design allows the cover to retract back into the canister when pushed back. Therefore, the design achieves some level of technological versatility and uncompromised use of truck bed space. Goods covered in the truck bed space remain dry after rain, save for the edges and corners that may have wind-pushed water droplets. In the future, there could be another cutting-edge technology. However, Gator Recoil reigns for now.
Who needs Gator Recoil Retractable Tonneau Cover?
A long as you own a pickup truck, you need Gator Recoil Cover. You may not own a pickup truck now, but you probably need it to gift a family member or a friend. This truck cover helps drivers ride with the peace of mind that their cargo is safe.
Installing one may help you take your mind away from the back of your truck and focus on the road. It also shelters your valuables from the weather elements and improves vehicle aesthetics and aerodynamics. Therefore, anyone can buy this product for their pickup truck or as a gift to someone with a pickup truck. The good thing about this product is that you can install it yourself.
How to Install Retractable Gator Recoil
Unlike many other vehicle hardware that requires special skills, Gator Recoil is designed to be easy to mount. Once you have removed it out of the shipping box, remove the shipping spacer and spiral by unscrewing the holding screw. Retain one of the shipping brackets to use as a spacer between the tailgate and the rail. This will prevent damage on the rails as you close the tailgate.
Next, use the key provided to open and unlatch the cover. After this, take the Gator Recoil canister from which the retractable cover will roll out and rest it on each of the truck bed rails on the left and the right. It will hang insider the truck bed but next to the cabin.
After this, take the driver’s side rail and attach the stop locks. Thread them in loosely to allow you room to adjust distances later on and only tighten after you are satisfied with your distances. Between the first stop lock and the second stop lock, install two metal clamps that have been provided. The passenger side rail also goes through the same process as the driver’s side rail.
After this, push the first stop lock towards the Gator Recoil canister. Next, push a clamp next to it. Align the rail below the canister rail and carefully tighten the screws to hold the rails in a firm position. The driver’s side rail and the passenger’s side rail follow the same process.
For safety, check the space between the rail and the tailgate. This is done by closing the tailgate when the side rails have not yet been pushed fully towards the tailgate. Following this protocol prevents you from accidentally smashing and bending the side rail on which Gator Recoil will slide.
Repeat the same process on the other rail. As you finish, measure the distance from the driver’s side rail to the passenger’s side rail. Ensure that the distance in front and at the back are equal. If the distances are equal, the retractable Gator Recoil would slide smoothly backward to cover the truck bed. At this stage, you are done and you can go shopping without worries.
